JavaScript Job: Junior Software Engineer

Eleanor Enterprises Ltd is currently growing their developer team for its growing global client base.

We are looking for a self-motivated and upbeat individuals to join our Development Team. They will be responsible for developing and maintaining our product and internal tools, as well as working with other members of the team to improve our product used by a growing number of luxury resorts who utilise our Eleanor platform to manage their bookings for activities and experiences.

We are a small, friendly ambitious team offering a great opportunity for growth as our business evolves and expands. We're easy going and we take great pride in our work - you will be working in a very flat organisational structure, often communicating and working, and being mentored directly by the technical founders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing and maintaining the product, including backend and frontend code;
• Developing and maintaining internal tools;

• Working with other members of the team to improve the product;
• Participating in design discussions and providing feedback;
• Participating in code reviews and providing feedback;
• Working with the Product Manager to prioritise features and bugs;
• Working with the QA team to test new features;
• Writing detailed bug reports for bugs found in production;
• Communicating with other developers on the team about code changes.

Our platform is bespoke, and currently includes use of the following technologies and services:

• AWS (Elastic Beanstalk, Lambda, ECS, RDS, S3, IAM, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB and various other tools)
• Backend platform and API:
• Ruby on Rails

Frontend facing platforms:
AngularJS, ReactJS, Titanium SDK, React Native

We are a looking for team members who have:
- Proven work experience as a web developer;
- Experience building full stack web software;
- Ruby on Rails experience is preferred but not essential;
- AWS experience is nice to have, but not essential;
- PHP experience is also nice to have, but not essential;
- Are proficient with git (branching, pull-requests, ..);
- Ability to manage time and effectively work and communicate remotely;
- Excellent verbal communication skills;
- Trustworthy and not afraid to ask questions when uncertain;
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask;
- Have an interest in learning about technology in the hospitality industry;
- Willing to learn new skills and knowledge.
Our rapidly growing client base currently covers the Maldives, Africa, the Caribbean, South America and Europe.

Location:

This position will be based at our Bristol Temple Meads office, with an option for some days to be home working.

You must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
